Kee Safety is proud to be involved in building two wastewater treatment plants in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi: Al Wathba and Allahamah. We provided a complete turnkey package of Kee Lite aluminium anodised safety handrails for these sewage treatment plants.
The owner of these two plants is Al Wathba Veolia Besix Waste Water PJSC, a Special Purpose Company which was incorporated for this specific project. It is a joint-venture between the government of Abu Dhabi, represented by ADWEA, and two private companies – Veolia and Besix.
The plants have been designed to limit the environmental impact by reducing the carbon and water footprints.
The sewage treatment plants serve two main purposes:
More than 6.5km of railings along with 150mm high aluminium toe board were installed in treatment areas, storage tanks, and access staircases.
Due to the harsh environment and presence of H2S gas (hydrogen sulphide) during normal operation, anodised aluminium was the preferred choice of material to the reduced oxidisation and thus extended lifetime of the safety handrails.
Kee Lite aluminium handrails and railing systems built from modular fittings and tube offer significant advantages over welded/fabricated handrails such as:
Waste and Water Treatment facilities require corrosion-resistant, durable, heavy-duty solutions to withstand outdoor exposure and everyday use.
Many areas of a Water Treatment Plant require guardrails, e.g.:
Kee Safety railing systems offer a cost effective alternative to traditional welded handrails. Our guardrails are quick and easy to design and install and very cost effective due to the modularity of their parts.
